Hello and thanks for stopping by! My name is Cherie Wilson and I am an artist, an instructor, and encourager. My deep interests are nature, healing and compassion for people and these primarily inform the creative work that you see here. I am currently teaching a monthly Creative Connection class at South Union Church locally and writing curriculum for the healing process of Art Journaling. I work out of my attic studio most days, which I call Studio Cherie, in Scenic Bloomington, Indiana. I am here to explore creativity daily, and I love to help others do the same. I want to inspire and encourage bravery, acceptance and connection through art. Art is for everyone brave enough to begin, not just a select few. I believe that Art is for everyone who chooses to cultivate their ability. Art for me, is a personal language and an empowering journey, and I would be honored if you allowed me to help you get started, or perhaps rekindle your interest, passion or curiosity. The greatest joy in my work is when a student discovers the healing power of art for themselves. Second to that, is when a viewer relates to and purchases one of my pieces for their own. I'm grateful to be living a creative life and hope you will join me!
I am a a wife to Mike and mother to four lovely and capable young women and their fine fellas. I was made a Grandma to the cutest little boy AND the cutest little girl on the planet in 2016. I am also Mom to our fuzzy and loyal sidekick, Elly Mae. Who likes to hang out in my home studio when she is not busy riding in the car with me or chasing birds.
